The Fabulous Four: A Synopsis
The Fabulous Four is a 2024 American comedy film directed by Jocelyn Moorhouse and written by Ann Marie Allison and Jenna Milly. The movie stars Susan Sarandon, Bette Midler, Megan Mullally, Sheryl Lee Ralph, Bruce Greenwood, Timothy V. Murphy, and Michael Bolton.
The story revolves around four lifelong friends—Kitty, Alice, Lou, and Marilyn—who reunite for Marilyn’s wedding in Key West, Florida. Kitty and Alice, hoping to mend the rift between Lou and Marilyn, trick Lou into attending the wedding by telling her she has won a raffle for a polydactyl cat from the Hemingway House.
Upon arrival, tensions rise as old wounds are reopened. Lou is still agitated by Marilyn’s past actions, including eloping with Lou’s ex-boyfriend, John. Despite the initial friction, the friends embark on a series of comedic and heartfelt adventures, including parasailing mishaps, cannabis-infused escapades, and a bachelorette party at a strip club where Kitty discovers her grandson is one of the performers.
