1. On Christmas Eve, TSA agent Ethan Kopek is pressured by a mysterious Traveler to let a suitcase through security. If he doesn’t comply, his pregnant girlfriend Nora, who also works at LAX, will be killed. The suitcase holds Novichok, a dangerous nerve agent set to detonate on a flight to DC. When Ethan tries to get help from a senior agent, The Traveler kills him, making Ethan realize the seriousness of the situation.
After the suitcase is cleared, Ethan has The Traveler’s associate, Mateo, flagged for a bag check. The Traveler then activates the bomb, forcing Ethan to rush to disarm it. Following orders, Mateo kills Ethan’s boss, Sarkowski. Ethan discovers that Mateo is also a victim, as The Traveler and his sniper, The Watcher, are holding Mateo’s husband Jesse captive. The Traveler guides Ethan on how to disarm the bomb. When they try to move Sarkowski’s body, Mateo is told to kill Ethan. He attempts to do so but ends up overheating his plastic gun, which explodes and kills him instead.
The Traveler sends The Watcher after Nora, but Jesse manages to kill him after escaping. Ethan learns the bomb is aimed at Congresswoman Grace Turner, who had previously lobbied for a bill favoring private contractors. The Traveler plans to make it look like a Russian attack after killing two mobsters, hoping the explosion will help pass the bill. Ethan sneaks into the plane’s cargo area while Nora persuades Elena to let the flight depart. He successfully disarms the bomb and confronts The Traveler, trapping him in a vacuum-sealed fridge with the nerve agent, leading to his death.
Later, Ethan and Nora celebrate the birth of their child, and Ethan joins the LAPD as an officer.
